Fans packed into the grandstands at New England Dragway expecting to see header flames Friday night at the NHRA New England Nationals presented by bproauto. 

They got them a little earlier than expected. During the second qualifying session, Scott Farley's Top Fuel dragster erupted in a spectacular explosion on the starting line, producing a dramatic flash that illuminated the facility and instantly captured the attention of thousands of fans.
